Nowadays, there is already an increasing demand for wireless technology. A wireless router, as the word “wireless” implies, is a device that eliminates the need to use hard-wired cables to connect through the Internet or through a computer network. Many people find this interesting to use because of the convenience they get from the use of this non-wired technology.

Don’t you think it would be a good idea to have Internet connection that won’t require the use of cable wires? Without the necessity of wirings, the home or the office would now be much more organized and cleaner to look at. This is one of the main reasons why people or businesses would consider using wireless routers to connect with the Internet.

With wireless Internet connection, as the term ‘wireless’ denotes, there is no need to use cables or wires which can be unsightly. Aside from that, there is no need for the holes to be drilled with the intention of hiding these unsightly wires and cables.

For computer users, who would decide to have wireless router to connect computers together to share Internet connection, security is always a primary concern. Oftentimes, we would hear about tapped connections and signals that would significantly affect the performance of Internet connection. Add to that, many hackers would find it easy to steal and hack personal information when you are using wireless Internet connection.

Even though wireless routers can provide some convenience because of the fact that Internet connection can easily be shared to more than one computer even when they are not connected with wires or cables, computer users are likely to worry about passwords and bandwidths being hacked. If this fact is something that can bother you almost all the time, then you should go for the wired connection, instead.

When you really think about it, there is no such thing as secure nowadays. Even wired connections have issues with security as well. However, when compared to one another, wired connections are considered more secure than the wireless stuff.

In conclusion, the use of wireless Internet connection may be less secure; however, wired networks will not really give a complete assurance of a secure Internet connection. So, if you would like to have the convenience of using a wireless router, you can work on security measures to make your Internet access safer and more secure. Some of these security measures include the use of firewalls, change of default passwords, configure encryption, etc. Consult with an expert, as necessary.
